Qatar Cool and QIMC Sign District Cooling Agreement <\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Qatar District Cooling Company, also known as Qatar Cool has recently signed a district cooling service agreement with Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMC).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The signed agreement includes the provision of district cooling services with a capacity of 3,650 Tons of Refrigeration (TR), along with regular maintenance to onsite equipment, water pumps and other related services to cover 120,000 square meters of tower space.<\/p>

Abdul Rahman Bin Abdullah Al Ansari, Chief Executive Officer of QIMC comments on the occasion: \u201cwe made an informed decision to opt for district cooling for our new tower in West Bay based on the various benefits it offers over conventional cooling methods. District cooling not only helps us reduce construction and maintenance costs, but also serves the environment by reducing the energy required to cool our tower by 40-45% thus reducing CO2<\/sub> emissions to the atmosphere \u2013 that, in turn, supports the environmental pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030.\u201d<\/p>

Furthermore, Yasser Salah Al-Jaidah, Chief Executive Officer at Qatar Cool expressed his appreciation to partner with QIMC, he commented: \u201cdistrict cooling offers tower owners and developers a variety of benefits in the long run; reduced construction and maintenance costs and more leasable space are principal among them. We pride ourselves on our ability to offer such economical and environmentally-friendly cooling service to our partners in Qatar.\u201d<\/p>

\u201cI would like to share some statistics to illustrate the environmental benefit of our district cooling operations: the cooling energy used over the past six years has saved over 1 billion Kilo Watts of electricity which translates to reducing over 600 million kilograms of CO2<\/sub> from the atmosphere, this is equivalent to the environmental effect of removing 120 thousand cars off the roads.\u201d Al Jaidah Added.<\/p>

It is also worth mentioning that district cooling is far superior to other conventional cooling methods as it is more efficient, economical and environmentally friendly, which serves the rising cooling demands of the State of Qatar. Over the past ten years, Qatar Cool focused its efforts on using the best district cooling technologies to cover the cooling demands in the West Bay and the Pearl-Qatar districts, where it pumps over 197,000 Tons of Refrigeration (TR) in both districts combined.<\/p>

The numbers indicate tremendous growth in the company\u2019s operations over the past years. In fact, the cooling capacity of both operational plants in the West Bay district has been completely sold out; this prompted Qatar Cool to start constructing a new cooling plant with a capacity of 40,000 TR to satisfy the overwhelming demand for district cooling services in the region. The new plant is scheduled to become operational in 2017.<\/p>

QIMC was established in 1990 and has become, within a short period of time, one of the pioneering companies in the field of small and medium scale industries in Qatar. Far from being confined to the State of Qatar, QIMC`s activities extend to other GCC countries such as Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman. Currently, QIMC has equity interest in 18 operational projects in various industrial sectors including chemicals, petrochemicals, construction materials and food processing.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
